Bristol Airport have recently announced that they will be sponsoring the Export & International Award at this year’s Business Leader Awards.
Having recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, the airport saw numbers grow 8% last year to a total of 8.1 million passengers.
The winner will have showed significant and sustained international growth, along with a clear understanding of overseas markets within their sector.
The judges will also be looking for commercial success and how export has benefitted the company’s UK operation.
Exporting is a complex matter, so any entrants must also have demonstrated how they have overcome any obstacles.
According to the Department for International Trade, last year, the South West exported £15.3 billion worth of goods and the UK as a whole exported £324 billion.
Peter Downes, Head of Aviation at Bristol Airport said: “The South West has many strong export businesses across a wide range of sectors. Bristol Airport is proud to sponsor the Export & International Award at the year’s Business Leader Awards.”
Founder of the Business Leader Awards Andrew Scott commented: “To have one of the largest airports in the UK sponsoring this year’s Export & International Award is great for our awards.
“Export markets are a route to growth for all size businesses and I am excited to see who will be entering this year.”
